2. Establishing policies to ensure the continuous availability of commonly consumed food items to the public and implementing these policies in collaboration with relevant authorities

7. Formulating regulations, guidelines, and standards under Law No. 2019/21 (Pesticide Control in Agriculture Act)

8. Establishing and implementing a system to monitor the use of pesticides in agriculture

9. Formulating and implementing regulations under Law No. 2011/12 (Plant Protection Act)

10. Formulating and implementing regulations under Law No. 98/20 (Uninhabited Islands of Maldives Act)

11. Leasing and renting out uninhabited islands under the Ministry's purview as per Law No. 20/98 (Uninhabited Islands of Maldives Act)

12. Establishing standards and guidelines for poultry and animal husbandry, and monitoring and maintaining these standards and guidelines

13. Establishing regulations, standards, and guidelines for the use of soil and water in agriculture, and monitoring and maintaining these aspects

14. Planning and implementing projects that improve economic and social conditions in the fields of agriculture, poultry, animal husbandry, and forestry

15. Planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating infrastructure development projects needed for the development of agriculture, poultry, animal husbandry, and forestry industries

16. Facilitating easy access to financial assistance, technical support, and other resources and services for those engaged in agriculture, poultry, animal husbandry, and forestry industries

17. Increasing the production of agricultural products grown in the Maldives to meet the needs of the population

18. Promoting locally grown agricultural products, finding markets in different regions of the country, and assisting in establishing market links

19. Conducting research and analysis related to agriculture, poultry, animal husbandry, and forestry to maximize benefits, and sharing the findings with relevant parties

20. Conducting research necessary for the development of agriculture, poultry, animal husbandry, and forestry industries; researching ways to increase productivity and product variety and improving product quality; and introducing these findings to the Maldives

21. Encouraging research needed for the development of agriculture, poultry, animal husbandry, and forestry industries, establishing guidelines for approving such research, and implementing these guidelines

22. Ensuring the continuous availability of commonly consumed food items to the public

23. Working with relevant authorities to control price increases of imported and locally produced food items due to disasters, incidents, changes in the global economy, and other such situations

24. Ensuring the availability of food items commonly consumed during Ramadan and working with relevant authorities to control price increases during this period

25. Researching available markets for commonly consumed food items and working with relevant authorities to expand the market base for importing these items

26. Issuing permits for the import and export of live animals

27. Establishing and operating a quarantine system for plants, fish, and other animals in the Maldives

28. Establishing and implementing standards and guidelines for regulating veterinary services in the Maldives and establishing and operating veterinary clinics and laboratories

29. Establishing and operating veterinary clinics and laboratories

30. Ensuring the availability of veterinary medicines, vaccines, and other such services in the Maldives

31. Taking necessary measures to protect humans and animals from diseases spread by animals

32. Establishing standards and guidelines for animal handling and increasing public awareness about animal welfare

33. Enhancing the capabilities of those working in agriculture, poultry, animal husbandry, and forestry to maximize the use of resources in these fields

34. Identifying areas where technical expertise is needed in agriculture, poultry, animal husbandry, and forestry industries, and working with relevant authorities to develop human resources

35. Increasing public awareness about various economic opportunities and employment prospects in agriculture, poultry, animal husbandry, veterinary, and forestry industries

36. Providing technical assistance to relevant authorities for including information about Maldivian agriculture, food security, poultry, and animal husbandry in the national education system

37. Collecting statistics and economic and social information related to the Ministry's work areas, compiling reports, and publishing them

38. Maintaining relationships with foreign countries, international and regional commissions, organizations, unions, and committees related to the Ministry's work areas; representing the Maldives; seeking assistance from such entities; and coordinating their activities

39. Participating in international agreements, treaties, and protocols beneficial to the Maldives in areas related to the Ministry's work, and fulfilling obligations under such agreements, treaties, and protocols to which the Maldives is a party
