With the achievement of the Maldives Good Agricultural Practices (MGAP) certificate, Sh. Goidhoo has become an exemplary model of establishing a robust balance between modern innovations and traditional lifestyles, according to the Minister of Agriculture and Marine Resources, Dr. Mariyam Mariya.

She said this during her speech at the ceremony of awarding the Maldives Good Agricultural Practices (MGAP) certificate to Goidhoo farmers.

The Minister stated that the MGAP certificate is an important step in enhancing the skills and quality of our farmers and advancing agriculture in the Maldives. She congratulated all parties in Goidhoo for this nationally recognized proud achievement.

As a government, the Ministry of Agriculture has committed to reducing dependence on imports, establishing sustainable food systems, and creating more opportunities for youth and women in the agricultural sector.

By promoting MGAP certified products, it will not only ensure food safety for Maldivian citizens but also pave the way for potential opportunities in regional and international markets in the future.

The Minister said that today's achievement is a testament to the capability and skill of Goidhoo's farmers. It demonstrates their ability to adapt to changes, create create innovative methods, and take the lead in guiding the Maldives towards a profitable and sustainable future for agriculture.
