In the Maldives, native coconut palms have become scarce, making it difficult to obtain the nutrition they provide. Especially coconuts, which are a staple in the Maldivian diet, have become extremely hard to come by. Therefore, the Ministry is preparing to launch a national campaign to cultivate coconut palms in the Maldives. This includes establishing a National Coconut Palm Cultivation Center in Ariyadhoo, Alif Dhaal Atoll.
