An agreement has been signed to allocate 1 hectare of land from K. Kaashidhoo to the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Welfare to enhance food security.
The handover ceremony took place today in Kaashidhoo, withMinister Dr. Mariyam Mariya, , signing on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture, and the President of the Kaashidhoo Council Mohamed Aamir, signing on behalf of the island council.
The President has highlighted in his speech that the Food Security Project, which the government has initiated as a priority to enhance food security in the Maldives, will bring significant economic benefits to the country through the allocation of land in various regions across the Maldives. The President also noted that this project, which is being launched in Kaashidhoo, will benefit Kaashidhoo's economy as well.
The current government has been undertaking numerous efforts to advance the agricultural sector.
