Under the Maldives Agribusiness Programme (MAP), an agreement was signed today with 6 farmers to establish their own greenhouses, as part of a grant scheme launched in collaboration with SDFC to provide financial assistance to farmers.
The opportunity to submit proposals under this scheme was opened in 2024, to promote climate-smart production as a business venture to increase farmers and agricultural products. During this opportunity, 68 parties submitted applications for the grant. Applications from an additional 16 parties are currently under review.
The Maldives Agribusiness Programme (MAP) is a program established by the Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture in collaboration with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) to carry out various activities and trainings needed to advance the agricultural sector in the Maldives.
