For a good fruit, it is very important to use good seedlings. Therefore, it is crucial to know the characteristics that should be present in the fruit used for seedling propagation. Thus, I am sharing the characteristics that should be present in the fruit used for seedling propagation.
Characteristics of fruit used for seedlings:
- The fruit should be from a disease-free, well-grown tree or vine
- The fruit should be of good quality in terms of color, size, and taste
- The fruit should be from a tree that bears fruit abundantly
- The fruit should be of good quality in terms of color, size, and taste
- The fruit should be fully ripened on the tree
Steps to be completed when extracting and storing seeds:
- After separating the seeds from the fruit, wash them with clean water to protect from fungal diseases
- Spread the seeds on something like a newspaper and air-dry them

- If storing the seeds for a long time, mix them with a thin coating of a fungicide like "Meptaan". If such a fungicide is not available, ash can be used similarly on the seeds

- After sealing the seedlings, properly label the container with the sealing date and the type of seedling
