The Ministry has signed an agreement with the Nolhivaram Council toestablish a facility for selling agricultural supplies in HDh. Nolhivaram.

As Nolhivaram is an island where agriculture is practiced extensively, establishing a system to easily purchase agricultural supplies from the island is included among President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's presidential pledges.

This agreement was signed during a meeting held as part of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's ongoing tour to meet with the people of HDh. Atoll and its islands, specifically during his meeting with the people of HDh. Nolhivaram. The agreement was signed on behalf of the Ministry by Minister Dr. Mariyam Mariya, and on behalf of Nolhivaram Council by Council President Yoosuf Moosa.

Under this agreement, the Ministry will find a party to open a shop on land provided by the council in HDh. Nolhivaram to sell agricultural supplies, draft an agreement, and commence the work. They will ensure that the items sold are permitted for import into the Maldives and monitor that agricultural supplies are sold to farmers at reasonable prices. The Nolhivaram Council will monitor whether this work progresses according to the work plan.
