During her official visit to Fuvahmulah City, Minister of Agriculture and Animal Welfare Dr. Maryam Mariya participated in the presentation ceremony of the United Nations Development Programme’s (UNDP) Small Grants Program.

The event was jointly organized by UNDP and Women in Fuvahmulah (WIF), showcasing ongoing efforts in sustainable agriculture and environmental protection supported by UNDP and the Global Environment Facility (GEF).

These community-led initiatives in Fuvahmulah serve as practical and effective examples aligned with the national vision of building an inclusive, empowering, and environmentally conscious Maldives.

Minister Mariya emphasized that protecting the environment is crucial not only for preserving natural resources but also for enhancing long-term food security and securing a sustainable future for the nation.
