Ministry Holds Consultations on Stray Cat Issue in Malé

The Ministry has conducted consultations with relevant associations to address the growing issue of stray cats in the Malé area.

During the meeting, discussions focused on effective solutions to manage the stray cat population and tackle related concerns—particularly the increasing presence of cat feces in public spaces, which has become a significant public nuisance.

The Ministry also provided updates on the ongoing development work at Olhu Hiyaa, sharing the latest progress and future plans with participating associations.

The consultation was attended by senior Ministry officials, including State Ministers, alongside representatives from key associations involved in animal welfare and urban management.
