The Minister of Agriculture and Animal Welfare, Dr. Maryam Mariya, has commenced an official visit to Fuvahmulah City to oversee ongoing agricultural initiatives.

Accompanying the Minister on this visit are the Japanese Ambassador to the Maldives, H.E. Ishigami Rumiko, along with representatives from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The delegation received a warm welcome from Fuvahmulah City Mayor Ismail Rafeeq, Deputy Mayor Mohamed Fikry, and members of the City Council.

This visit aims to review the practical progress of the agricultural project jointly implemented by the Ministry, UNDP, and the Government of Japan in Fuvahmulah. Additionally, the delegation will engage in discussions focused on advancing sustainable agricultural development in the city.
